Geoffrey's Back in Town for Banjo's Birthday

Happy birthday ‘Banjo’

“Hear the hoof beats of Harrison, laugh with the hilarious barber in the barber’s shop, reflect in the beauty of ‘Eyes are Blue’, smell the fresh air with Clancy,
feel the fear of McGinnis, the anguish of a mothers love in ‘Lost’, the anger towards the conman ‘Gundagai” and the pain of the warhorses. And there's more…”

In 1995 Geoffrey W Graham presented extraordinary performances at Winton to celebrate the 100 years since ‘Banjo’ Paterson penned Waltzing Matilda. ‘The Man from Ironbark’ presented comedy, intrigue, verse, songs, drama, conflict, audience repartee, and entertainment---all in the one performance

Geoffrey takes the audience on an unforgettable two-hour journey, through the life of the man who wrote ‘The Man from Snowy River’ and many other classics.

The audiences were lavish in their praise of the performance as Geoffrey presented the first full impersonation of ‘Banjo’ the poet, the correspondent, the lover, the farmer, the solicitor, the larrikin and the man.

After seeing the show Ted Egan said,
Geoffrey is born for the role. He becomes Banjo as we see the vision splendid’.
Tom Harwood, ABC Longreach, said Brings Paterson, the man and poet alive.’
One audience remarked ‘this is the sleeper of the Cannes festival.’

The Winton celebrations were attended by thousands of Australians who travelled great distances to celebrate an important event. They responded by seizing Geoffrey’s performance with both hands and ensured the unparalleled success of this show. It was obvious that this is what people expected to see, in fact, they demanded it.

Geoffrey received a standing ovation for every performance at Winton with people being turned away from every one of the ten scheduled shows. He has gone on to present the performances to tens of thousands of people across Australia and has had standing ovations from Port Fairy to North Queensland.

Now Geoffrey returns to Tamworth with The Man from Ironbark to celebrate Banjo’s 150th birthday.
